Mrs. O. Jane Young, age 69, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her home. Jane was born October 14, 1948 in Chatsworth, Georgia, a daughter of the late Samuel Lucious and Doris Mozelle Gulledge Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert L. Thompson. She was a 1966 graduate of Polk County High School in Benton, Tennessee. She worked many years at Legendary Homes in Fairmount, Georgia, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairmount.

She is survived by her husband, J.M. Young of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Gerald Cooley of Sugar Valley, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Melissa Young, Phillip and Kelley Young all of Fairmount, GA; grandchildren, Brittany Cooley Landon Cooley, Jacob Young, Samantha Young, Bailey Cordle, Sawyer Edens, Cole Snider, Beau Young and Trenton Young; great-grandchildren, Collum Edens and Brooklynn Cordle; brothers, Sammy Thompson of Ocoee, TN, Doug Thompson of Benton, TN, Robby Thompson of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Judy Wilson of Decatur, TN, and Charlotte Bridges of Cleveland, TN; aunts, Jesse Coppock of Old Fort, TN, and Wanda Jackson of Chatsworth, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jane Young will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Herman Mulkey and Reverend Stanley Mulkey officiating. She will be laid to rest at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday until the service hour.
