Mrs. Norma Jean Greene, 68 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this Friday August 23, 2019 at the local hospital.  Norma was born December 31, 1950 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Arthur Millard and B D Mulkey Pierce.  She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Aalliyah Atkins, brothers and sisters-in-law, George "Bud" Pierce, James Pierce and Edward and Geraldine Pierce and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Mary Ruth Greene.

Norma was retired from Shaw Industries where she worked in the sample department for over twenty-five years.  She was a faithful member of Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church.   Norma enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.  She was a sweet and loving person and was always concerned with others before herself.

She is survived by the love her life, who she met while "dragging main", Robert Greene of the residence, and would have celebrated their forty-ninth wedding anniversary December 1, 2019; sons, Anthony Greene and Crystal Crawford of Dalton, GA, Wayne Greene and Misty Smith of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Haley Greene, Keagan Thomason, Manixx Greene, Corey Greene, Liana Greene and Spencer Greene; great-grandchild, Bryleigh Atkins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Larry Greer of Conway, SC, Laura Byers and Edna and Stanley Franklin; sister-in-law, Mae Dell Pierce all of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Norma Jean Greene will be held Monday, August 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Robert Beavers and Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
