Mrs. Nina Jo Payne, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the local hospital.  Nina was born April 26, 1942 in Ringgold, Georgia, the daughter of the late, William and Lela Woods Duckett. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, David Duckett and Ralph Duckett.  She was a member of the Old Time Country Church in Dawnville. Nina loves to sew and cook for her family. Nina worked and retired from Con Arga after 37 years and all of those years were spent on 3 ^rd shift.

Nina is survived by her husband, Bernard Payne; daughters, Judy Anderson of Dalton, GA, Sheila Leamon of Cohutta, GA, Ruth Raper of Cohutta, GA, Michelle and Steve Jones of Mid-West City OK; sons, Robert and Vicky Pierce of Chatsworth, GA, Jimmy and Robin Jones of Sweetwater, TN, Matthew Walden of Clove, Washington; sisters, Alice Parrish of Tunnel Hill, GA, Carolyn Templeton of Tunnel Hill, GA, grandchildren, Rhonda Walden, Robert Walden, Sheenah Dennard, Stephanie Walden, Samantha Sixto, Steven Newport, Josh Jones, Jerry Anderson, Arthur Anderson, Jessica Anderson, Donnie Jones, Hannah Byrd, Michael Dotson, Eric Redenbaugh; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Nina Jo Payne will be held Wednesday October 13, 2021 at 1:00  p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Mike Law officiating. Interment will be at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold, GA with Bernard Payne Jr, Joshua Jones, Donnie Jones and Robert Pierce serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday October 12, 2021 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning until the service hour.
