Mrs. Nellie Ruth Harris, age 56, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018 at the local hospital. Nellie was born May 4, 1962 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Dorothy Gladden and W. T. Bryson.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Gladden, a sister, Susie Waller and a grandson, Austin McAfee.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-four years, Glenn Harris of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Alyssa Harris of Chatsworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Chris Stanton of Dalton, GA; step daughter and step-son-in-law, Aimee and Dustin Bryant of Crandall, GA; adopted daughter, Gail Nash; nine grandchildren, Aubree Harris, Will Stanton, Jackson Cannon, Reese Stanton, Jaykob Baker, Morgan Bryant, Abbi Bryant, Ethan Bryant and Alexus Bishop; sister, Beverly Lively; brother, Billy Gladden; nephew Caleb Gladden; niece Kaci Gladden; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Marty Bramlett, and Michael Harris; mother-in-law, Thelma Roberts; special friends, Kay Kline, Tammy Gross, Angie Gibson, Alice Powell and Patsy Howard; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nellie Ruth Harris will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Darey Kittle officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with T. J. Cannon, Doug Harris, Dustin Bryant, Jaykob Baker, Jeff Caldwell and Chris Stanton serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 2:00 p.m. Friday until the service hour.
