Mr. Nathaniel Joseph Lance, age 43, of Blairsville, Georgia, and formerly of
Dalton, Georgia, departed this life February 16, 2024, in Blairsville, Georgia, from
injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Joseph was born July 29, 1980, in Hinesville, Georgia. He was a 1998 graduate of
Cass High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Letcher and Marie Cochran and
Blanche Lance.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Jamie Lynn Lance and would have celebrated their
first wedding anniversary on February 25, 2024; parents, Gordon and Loretta
Lance of Dalton, GA; children, Daniel and Amanda Lance of Chatham, VA,
Lamar and Jessamae Anders of Ames, IA, Trinity Lance of Chatham, VA, Alexis
Anders of Athens, TN, Tiahna and Daniel Rivera of Jefferson, IA; granddaughter,
Sarailynn Dodd of Athens, TN; sisters, Heather and James Cansler of Cleveland,
TN, and Melissa and Derrick Callahan of Dalton, GA; brothers, Scott and Allison
Lance of Rocky Face, GA, Cain and Debbie Anders of Blairsville, GA, John
Porter and Chris and Angie Lance all of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews who
called him, Uncle Joey, Jacey Callahan, Jordyn Callahan, Josh and Haley Porter,
Dustin and Kiah Porter, Monika Cansler, Andres Cansler, Sam and Lily Lance,
Brittney and Chanthy Ramirez, Zachrey Lance, Gloria and Kaui Morehead, Katlyn
Porter, Amelia Porter, Ashleigh and Trevor Martin, Harli Whitney and Shelby
Whitney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Eva Anders of Athens, TN;
several great-nieces, great-nephews, and many aunts and uncles.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Nathaniel Joseph Lance will be held Monday,
February 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. with his close family and friends speaking.
Military honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 3:00 p.m. until the
service hour.
