Mrs. Naomi Ruth Jackson, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning, December 29, 2024, at Ridgewood Manor, surrounded by her devoted family.
Born on July 3, 1938, in Dalton, Georgia, Naomi was the beloved daughter of Houston and Francis Green. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Jimmy Jackson; her son-in-law, Lester Cochran; and her siblings, Bill and Charleen Green, Lyndelle and Helen Green, Joe and Annie Sue Green, Patricia Green, Marie and Ralph Cornette, and Sue and Charles Ownbey.
A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Naomi's love for her family was unwavering. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She lived a life filled with compassion, grace, and steadfast devotion to her faith. A lifelong member of her church, Naomi found strength and solace in her unwavering belief in God. Her faithfulness was evident in the way she lovingly served her church community and shared her kind spirit with everyone she met.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Martha Jackson of Chatsworth, GA, and Randy Jackson of Dalton, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Harold Phifer of Dalton, GA; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ellie Green of Dalton, GA; her sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Gary McNabb of Okeechobee, FL; and her sister-in-law, Minnie Ramey of Chatsworth, GA. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Reagan and Clay Gillean, Nathan and Mandy Jackson, April and Cory Ryan, and Chris and Jenny Jackson; as well as her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Anna Grace, Caleb, Olivia, Pierce, Price, Kambree, Kayden, Jagger, Keeleigh, Kaylah Raena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will celebrate Naomi's remarkable life on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend Bruce Beach and Reverend Randy Vaughn officiating.
Naomi will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Center Valley Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Harris, Michael Cronan, Greg Hopkins, Eric Blaylock, Bruce Brock, Darrell Cannon, Chris Tarvin, and Brian Mathis. Collin Jackson, Robert Jackson, Jackie Cole, and Bradley Mathis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
