Mrs. Nancy Jane Farris, age 71, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Pruitt Health Care in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Nancy was born on January 6, 1954, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Hershell Jonathan and Ida Bell Williford Hooper. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Joseph Farris, with whom she shared many cherished years of love and companionship; her sisters, Evelyn Dyer, Joann Hooper, Sue Hooper, and Joyce Lynn; and her brothers, James Hooper, Gene (Evelyn) Hooper, and Steve Hooper.

Nancy was a woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, whose deep love and loyalty to Ray was evident to all who knew them. Her children were her pride and joy, and she spent her life ensuring they knew the warmth of her love and the strength of her faith.

She 18 years at GIR Systems and retired after working 12 years in convenience store management. She previously attended Smith Chapel Church, where she found comfort and community throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Debra Blevins, and son, Michael James Lamar Pangle, both of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother, Michael Dale Hooper  Ringgold, GA; sister, Melissa Zamudio of Dawnville, GA; brother-in-law, Gene Dyer of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly for her kindness and fiery spirit. Special friends which were like family, Jimmy Boyd Bigham and Lisa Michelle Bigham.

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at a later date.
