Nadine Bishop Griffin

Nadine Bishop Griffin, 67, of Barney passed away Sunday December 8, 2013 at Smith Northview Hospital.

Born in Lafayette, Ga. Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of J.B. and Lucille Barton Bishop. She had been a resident of Barney for 10 years moving here from Calhoun, Ga., a homemaker and member of Barney United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Gene Griffin of Barney, two daughters; Regina Ann (Michael) Young of Barney, Carmen Latrice (Richard) Payne of Daphne, Al., nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers Gene Bishop of Dalton, Ga., and J.B. Buddy Bishop of Chatsworth, Ga. two sisters; Essie Burns of Calhoun, Ga. and Brenda (Wendell) Chance of Resaca, Ga., sister in law Deloris Bishop Chapman.

She was preceded in death by her parents. J.B. and Lucille Bishop, three brothers; Clark (Duke) Bishop, Michael Bishop, and R.L. Bishop, and nephew Rodney Bishop.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 11 at 2:00 PM in the Maxwell-Miller Chapel with Dr. Charles McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
