Mrs. Myrtle Louise Hayes, age 76 of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life early Saturday morning, June 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Hayes was born in the Spring Place community on May 25, 1943.  She was a daughter of the late Trammell William and Rosa Mae Ledford Carter.  Along with her mother and father Mrs. Hayes was also preceded in death by her loving husband, who passed away on September 19, 2009, Ellison "Junior" Hayes Jr.; son, Ricky L. Hayes who passed away on September 12, 2005; son-in-law, who passed away on August 21, 2008, Michael Hugh Paige; and brothers, Hubert Pierce, Billy Carter, Kenneth Carter, and Ed Carter.

Mrs. Hayes was a very loving and caring person.  Her twin grandsons and her long haired Datsun, Bandit, were the loves of her life.

She is survived by her son and his fiancée, James Hayes and Cindy Sissom; daughter, Susan Paige all of Chatsworth, Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Billy Ponders of Dalton, Linda and Fate Osborne of Chatsworth, Sharon and Oather Osborne of Ellijay; sisters-in-law, Meryl Pierce of Dalton and Lou Hayes of Resaca; twin grandsons,  Dylan and Garrett Hayes; special friend, Linda Wagner of Chatsworth; and of course her beloved Datsun, Bandit; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hayes will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 2:00 PM from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ed Kilgore and Reverend Lavoyd Whitten officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Spring Place Cemetery beside her beloved husband.  Donnie, Kenneth, Lewis, Earl, Clinton, and Clifford Stanley will all be honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family of Mrs. Hayes will receive friends on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. And on Monday after 11:00 AM until the service hour.
