Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth Erwin, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the local hospital. Elizabeth was born September 10, 1937 in Floyd County, GA, a daughter of the late Rassie Franklin and Mamie Lois Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Morgan, sister, Nancy Carroll Rogers. She was a member of the Eastgate Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA.

She is survived by her loving husband Ernest "Buddy" Erwin of the residence; granddaughter, Marisa Morgan; great grandson, Brynlee Morgan; son-in-law, Ray Morgan all of Chatsworth, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Lee Rogers of Rome, GA.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth Erwin will be held Wednesday September 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Kenny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Mike Stamey, Robie White, Ricky Adcock, Chris Quarles, Chris Mullins, Greg McGregory,and Cory Quarles serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
