Mrs. M. Frances Nealey, age 89, of Dalton, Georgia passed Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born August 3, 1933, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Roy J. and Jewel Victoria Rankin Seay, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Johnny Franklin Nealey in 2002, a daughter, Debra Jean Nealey, son-in-law, Gene Daffron, sisters, Joann Thompson, Pearl Chubb, Opal Chubb, Jackie Seay, brothers, Roy Seay, Jr., Willard Seay and Frank Seay, brother-in-law, J.D. Nealey. Frances retired from Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home where she worked as a CNA for over eighteen years. She was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Face, Georgia. Frances is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Gail Nealey of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Frank Knox of Rocky Face, GA, and Joan and Joel Phillips of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Drew and Cheryl Daffron of Rising Fawn, GA, Joel and Amy Phillips, Jr. of Soddy Daisy, TN, Farrah and Tim Henderson, Steven and Laura Nealey, Nathan McClure all of Dalton, GA; great-grandchildren, Jesse and Jodi Daffron of Rising Fawn, GA, Will and Destini Beach of Dalton, GA, Callen and Preston Nealey of Rocky Face, GA, Emma Kate, Carter and Ana Phillips of Soddy Daisy, TN, Colin Hayes of Birmingham, AL, and Seth Henderson of Dalton, GA; great-great-granddaughter, Addy Beach of Dalton, GA; sisters, Margaret Beckham and Martha Westbury both of Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law, Faye Seay and Ruth Nealey both of Dalton, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Frances Nealey will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her pastor, Reverend Scott Hobbs officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at West Hill Cemetery with Drew Daffron, Joel Phillips, Jr., Steven Nealey, Jesse Daffron, Will Beach, Callen Nealey, Preston Nealey, Solin Hayes and Randy Thompson honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 12:00 p.m. Noon Thursday until the service hour.
