Miss Millie Allen Simmons, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, September 06, 2013 at the Memorial Health Care in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Millie was born July 21, 1948 a daughter of the late Virgil "Red" and Morabelle Allen Simmons. She was a 1966 graduate of North Whitfield High School. Millie was a hard worker and a very successful business woman. Her life was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was very instrumental in establishing several churches. She was currently attending the Tabernacle of Praise Deliverance Center in Chatsworth, Georgia.
She is survived by cousins whom she thought of as her children, Melissa and Pablo Sandoval, Josh Allen and his girl friend, Sarah Coleman; and their children whom she thought of as her grandchildren, Levi Sandoval and Lain Allen; cousins, Tim and Darlene Allen, Todd and Melissa Allen, Lacey Allen, Will and Amanda Allen, Katie Allen, Elizabeth and Avery Allen; uncle and aunt, Chick and Betty Simmons; very special and close friends, Betty Jean and Buddy Marchman, Wanda and James Whaley, Linda Brogdon, Susan and Clinton Tankersley, Bobbie Jo Hamilton, Angela and Roger McCoy and Mommie Hill, Connie Redmond, Betty Witherow and Lane Jones; many, many other friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Miss Millie Allen Simmons will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Susan Tankersley and Evangelist Bobbie Jo Hamilton officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved parents at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Allen, Josh Allen, Will Allen, Pablo Sandoval, Lane Jones and Clinton Tankersley serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 1:00 p.m. Monday until the service hour.
