Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Louise Phillips age 77 of Resaca, GA, departed this life Friday January 15, 2021 at the local hospital. She was born May 15, 1943 in Copperhill, TN a daughter of the late Reverend Willie and Minnie Patterson. She was also preceded in death her son, Martin Dean Whitaker, brothers, David Patterson, Willie Patterson Jr., Bill Patterson, Amom Patterson, sisters, Rachael Ball, Cathy Patterson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Denise and Roland Freeman of Resaca, GA; son, James Noah Whitaker of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, April and Brandon Hays, Malissa and Marty Rolen, Mandy and Chris Gazaway, Megan Whitaker, Noah Whitaker, Jimmy Whitaker, Curt Whitaker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Patterson of Talking Rock, GA, Jimmy and Patricia Patterson of Chatsworth, GA, Reverend Donnie and Sharon Patterson of Ranger, GA, Melvin and Tonta Patterson of Resaca, GA, Andrea Patterson of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evon Stout of Knoxville, TN, Elizabeth and Harold Malone of Chatsworth, GA, Shirley and Yavanny Simon of Ranger, GA; companion, David Phillips of Chatsworth, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred Louise Phillips will be held Wednesday January 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Donnie Patterson and Sharon Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
