Mrs. Mildred Shepherd Olszyk, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, May 15, 2014 at the local hospital. Mildred was a graduate of Dalton High School. She was retired from the First National Bank of Dalton where she worked for over thirty-eight years and most recently was employed at Ponders Funeral Home where she was the receptionist. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Talley and her father and step mother, Clay and Maude Talley.

She is survived by her husband, James Daniel "Haney" Olszyk; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Ronald Headrick; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred T. Olszyk will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Chaplain Ken Waddell officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 1:00 p.m. Monday until the service hour.
