Mrs. Mildred Louise Bailey , age 79, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the local hospital.  Mildred was born December 11, 1941 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Reverend John B. and Catherine Lucille Blaylock Shoemaker.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Mackial Scott Bailey, a grandson, Billy Bailey, father-in-law and mother-in-law, L.B. and Renay Bailey, sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Ensley, Thelma Virginia and Ronnie Dyer, Johnnie Cannon, Billy Quarles, sister-in-law, Maybell Shoemaker.

Mildred was a member of Welch Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-years, Billy Bailey of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Terry Souther of Tunnel Hill, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Jackie Mathis of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Earl Shoemaker of Chatsworth, GA, Daniel and Jan Shoemaker of Cucamonga, CA, James Shoemaker of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Kelly Painter of Chatsworth, GA, Ronald Ensley of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Souther, Kendan Marrin, Britany and Jeremy McNutt, Brandy Bailey; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred Louise Bailey will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her son, Bobby Mathis, Reverend Charles Carnes and Reverend Isaac Johns officiating.  She will be laid to rest with her son and grandson at White Cemetery in Villanow, Georgia, with Bobby Mathis, Brandon Souther, Kendan Marrin, Rick Raburn, Wayne Bailey and Junior England honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
