Michaela Elizabeth Smith born December 18, 1992, of the Dawnville Community in Dalton, GA, went home to be with her Heavenly Father July 3, 2019 at Erlanger Medical Center. Michaela is survived by her loving parents. Mike and Annette Smith also of the Dawnville Community, aunts and uncles, Kathy and Raymond Caylor, Earl and Maryann Cowart, Lesia and Andy Smith all of Dalton, Jeane Jackson, Bruce and Felicia Smith, Larry Smith and Tony Smith all of Chatsworth. She is also survived by her Very Special Uncle Roy Green and Betty of Dalton as well as many cousins whom she loved so very much. Also very special friend Katie Palmer. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andy and Virginia Cowart, Clarence and Mary Smith all of Dalton, GA; aunts and uncles, Imogene Green, Teresa Smith, Phillip Smith, Earl and Carolyn Parrish.

Michaela was a 2011 graduate of Southeast High School and a 4 Star General as manager of Southeast High Raiders Football. She was a 2017 graduate of Dalton State College with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Minor in Psychology. Michaela loved and attended Rock Bridge Community Church where she worked with the children's department and her small group. Michaela was employed by the Murray County Sheriff's Department as a Detention Officer where she had a good rapport with both staff and inmates. Wanting to be a light in the darkness, she said, "sometimes people make poor decisions and need a second chance, if we treat them with respect hopefully, we will earn it as well". Michaela loved her family and especially family gatherings. She had an easy spirit and great big smile that would light up a room. Her manner and friendly nature drew people to her and blessed her with many friendships. Michaela loved Alabama Football and could coach any game from comfort of her own chair. "Roll Tide". Michaela had a huge heart and was always thinking of others. This was carried on even in her death as an organ donor. There are people today getting a chance at life through her untimely death. She never had to be reminded to be a blessing to someone else, it came as natural as breathing and now even in death she continues to bless.

Service to celebrate the life of Ms. Michaela Elizabeth Smith will be held Wednesday July 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Hare and Dr. Danny Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday. She will be laid to rest at the Serenity Hills Memorial Park in Chatsworth, GA.
