Mr. Michael Lee James Reece age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, went to be with Jesus, Sunday October 11, 2026 at the local hospital. He was born February 21, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia, a son of the late Henry Rusus and Omega Geraldine Harris Reece. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Selah Grace Butler.

He is survived by his son, Chris Reece of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, April and James Stewart of Chatsworth, GA, Miriam and Joshua Martin of Lafayette, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Ruthie Reece of Rome, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce and Terry Hall of Adairsville, GA, Hope Reece of Rome, GA; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Lee James Reece will be held Friday October 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Joshua Martin and Pastor Thomas Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with Kyler Patton, Noah Patton, Brent Reece, Christian Keith, Xander Reece and Danny Patton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
