Mr. Michael Jay JenkinsMr. Michael Jay Jenkins, age 60, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the local hospital. Michael was born July 2, 1953 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late JT and Lucille Baynes Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Terry Keith.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Robin Jenkins, Geran and Mandy Jenkins of Dalton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Joshua Salazar of Stafford, VA; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Jenkins, Greg Jenkins of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Coleman Jenkins, Chase Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins, Heath Jenkins, Jaxon Salazar, Jasper Salazar; two nieces, Tracy Person, Dusty Ross; several other extended family.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Jay Jenkins will be held Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Danny Jenkins and Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Murray County with Coleman Jenkins, Chase Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins, Heath Jenkins, Jimmy Mull, and Joe Stapp serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
