Mr. Michael Cox, age 48 of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014 at the Erlanger Medical Center. Michael was born April 14, 1966, in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Cox, grandparents, J.R. and Helen Cox, Farris and Dessie Hewitt, brother, Christopher Cox. He graduated from Dalton High School and was a member of Five Springs United Methodist Church.

He is survived by wife, Mildred Cox of the residence; mother E.R. Skip Hewitt Cox of Dalton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Kelly and Diem Dinh Cox of Chatsworth, GA; stepchildren, Josh and Brittany McMillan, Chris and Jessica McMillan of Charleston, SC, Pamela and Dylan Ridley of Dalton, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Ginger Cox of Rocky Face, GA, Tyson Cox of Orlando, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathie and James Owens of Rocky Face, GA, Catherine Cox and fianc, Billy Ballard of Canton, GA, six grandchildren, Khloe Cox, Zayla Cox, Melanie McMillan, Payton McMillan, Aria McMillan, Anakin Lee Ridley; several aunts, uncles, special nieces, Carley Cox, Julie Cox of Rocky Face, GA.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Cox will be held Sunday August 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Ann Fleming officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
