Mr. Melvin Leon Turner age 67, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life Tuesday August 30, 2016 at the Chatsworth Health Care. Melvin was born January 22, 1949 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Clyde and Jessie Turner. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Turner, sister, Irene Hill. He was a Past Master of Tilton Lodge, Past Master of 43rd Tri County Convention, Scottish Rite and was a member of the Tilton Lodge #291.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewell Teasley of Dalton, GA, Wanda and Shane Crump of Tunnel Hill, GA, Kathy and Ronnie Kirkland of Dalton, GA; special nephew, Eddie White of Tunnel Hill, GA; special friend, Joe Yother of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Melvin Leon Turner will be held Friday September 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Alfred Turlley . Interment will follow inPonders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
