Mrs. Melissa Renee “Lisa” Bonifacious, age 53, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, March 21, 2026, her birthday at a local hospital.

Lisa was born March 21, 1973, in Ringgold, Georgia, a daughter of the late Vernon Curtis and Peggy Ann Hasty Moore. She was a graduate of Brainerd Baptist School and Dalton State College and earned her master’s degree in education from West Georgia College.

Lisa had a true calling in working with children. For the past eight years, she was employed at Kid’s Community Learning Center, where she poured her heart into teaching and caring for the children she loved so dearly. Lisa found great joy in her work at the daycare, and the children adored her just as much in return. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit made her a beautiful person inside and out, leaving a lasting impression on every child and family she encountered.

She was a faithful member of Mount Rachel Baptist Church.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband of nineteen years, Greg Bonifacious of the residence; children, Grace Nichole Moore and Shane Bonifacious, Robbie and Tiffany Chappell, and Shelley Chappell; grandchildren, Reese Chappell, Gage Voyles, and Luxton Fagundes; sister, Carrie Chambers.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Melissa “Lisa” Bonifacious will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Mt. Rachel Baptist Church with Reverend Clifford Chambers, Reverend Marty Greene, and Reverend Tom Whitsett officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia. Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Gazaway, Robbie Chappell, David Palantzer, Tony Bearden, Matthew Bearden, and Kenny Stokes. Tiffany Dunlap and Ciera Gazaway will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 1:00 p.m. Thursday until the service hour.
