Mrs. Melinda Lee Baker age, 59, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia departed this life, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at her home.  Melinda was born February 7, 1963, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late, Johnny Leroy and Barbara Jean Blalock Brown.  She was also preceded by a granddaughter, Evelyn Baker and her grandparents, Herbert and Hester Blalock and Chester and Margaret Dover Brown.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-three years, James Baker, Jr. of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sheena Baker of Dalton, GA, Jason and Carol Baker of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Baker, Keira Baker, Jasmine Baker and Corbin Baker; and one on the way in March 2023, Ivan Baker; brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Pam Brown of Ringgold, GA; sister, Beverly Brown of Tunnel Hill, GA; aunts and uncles, Jean and Kenneth Hightower of Adairsville, GA, Susan and Michael Barrett of Canton, MS, and Chester Brown, Jr., of Cartersville, GA; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Melinda Lee Baker will be held Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Mark Smith officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum with James "Adam" Baker, Johnny Brown, Aaron Brown, Vince Baker, Johnny Campbell, and Jason Baker honored to serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
