Mrs. Maxine A. Lanier, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Friday October 16, 2015 at local hospital. Maxine was born February 15, 1929 in Athens, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Tensley and Mattie Sue Noell Almand. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Andy and W.T. Almand, sister, May Belle Almand.
She is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Rene Hoke Lanier of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Dialphia Lanier of Elka, GA, Billy and Mary Margaret Lanier; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Scott Hannah of Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Maxine A. Lanier will be held Sunday October 18, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens with Mark Hannah, Tom Lanier, Sam Lanier, Andrew Evans, Jamie Kemp, Josh Burnham, and John Whidden serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
