Mr. Max E. Holcomb, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, April 2, 2017. Max was born July 9, 1930 in Calhoun, GA, a son of the late Joe and Ruby Treadaway Holcomb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Young Holcomb. The proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Textile Rubber after working more than twenty years.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Angela Holcomb of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and David Owens of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Tammy Bristow, Shawn Holcomb, Jason Holcomb, Scott Holcomb; great grandchildren, Aubrhy, Mckenzie, Cameron, Camden.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Max E. Holcomb will be held Thursday April 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Jason Holcomb, Scott Holcomb, Barry Willingham, Jake Long, Jeremy Smitty and Bobby Shirley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
