Mrs. Maude Taberiaux Howard, age 90, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, August 31, 2013 at the Calhoun Health Care Center. Maude was born January 21, 1923 in Pickens County, Georgia, a daughter of the late William and Charity E. Fann Taberiaux. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Theodore Howard, Sr. and her daughter-in-law, Teresa Howard.

She was retired from Lacy Mills and was a member of Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church. She was a member of the Priority Club of Fairmount.

She is survived by her son, James Ted Howard, Jr. of Calhoun, GA; granddaughter, Deirdia Howard and Wayne Wylie of Rosedale, GA; nieces, Betty Jo Jackson and Mary Alice Brown; several cousins and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Maude Howard will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Harold Owens, Reverend Ronnie Howard and Reverend Lamar Beason officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery with her family and close friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2013.
