Master Sergeant Kenneth "Paul" Cross age 79 of Dalton departed this life Saturday October 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1939 in Benton, TN. He was preceded in death by his sons, Kenny Cross, Franklin Cross, mother and stepfather, Dorothy Helton and Burch Cheek, father and stepmother, Paul Walter and Norma Jean Cross, sisters, Peggy Hughes, Barbara Murray, Virginia Dickerson, mother-in-law, Mary and Ralph Hobbs, father-in-law, Ray Carpenter. He retired from the United States Army after proudly serving his country for twenty years. He also retired from Dalton Utilities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Norma J. Cross of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Melinda Cross of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Tommy Grigsby, Tami and Michael Koehler of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Deb abd Jim Vandongen of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Kenneth Kyle Cross, Conner Cross, Baleigh Grigsby, April and Bobby Edwards, Michael and Cassie Grigsby; great grandchildren, Preston, Payton, Destini, Savana, Corey; one great great grandson, William "Wee Willie"; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Master Sergeant Kenneth "Paul" Cross will be held Wednesday October 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Carl Knowles officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
