Mrs. Mary Pauline Whitmore, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Monday February 28, 2022 at the Pruitt Health Fort Oglethorpe. She was born April 2, 1930 in Blairsville, GA, a daughter of the late Roosevelt and Mamie Owenby Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Whitmore, daughters, Dyann Baynes, Mary Knight, brothers, Marshall Brown, Charles Brown, sisters, Susie Dean, Grovie Rogers, Bobbie Sane, Dorothy Gragg, grandchildren, Shawn Knight, Jennifer Stone.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Stone of Highland, MI, Ronald Stone of Jacksonville, FL, Gene Stone of Cohutta, GA; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Pauline Whitmore will be held Friday March 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Interment will follow in the Nance Springs Cemetery.
