Mrs. Mary Frances Overby age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday January 22, 2020 at her home. She was born November 10, 1943 in Dalton, GA a daughter of the late Hulen Smith Sr. and Frances Crider Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Hulen Jr., Edward and James Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray Overby of the residence; son, David Overby; daughters, Linda Welden Lackey, Lisa Overby all of Dalton, GA; sister, Elizabeth Scroggins of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA, Marion and Carol Smith of Villenow, GA, JW and Belinda Smith of Dalton, GA, TW Smith of Rocky Face, GA, Thomas and Chris Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Frances Overby will be held Saturday January 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at McFarland Hills Baptist Church with Floyd Smith and Marion Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
