Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann Minchey, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, May 13, 2019 at her home.   Mary Ann was born September 15, 1944 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, a daughter of the late, Joseph Elmer and Mildred Pauline Bullard Flynn.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Flynn. She was a 1961 graduate of Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Tennessee, and Falls Business College.  She and her husband were the owners of Export Connection.  She was an active and faithful member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. Mary Ann was a loyal and true friend.  She was the life of the party and was always "In Charge".

She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-six years, James W. "Jim" Minchey of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Angie and Tracy Allen, Candi Minchey; grandchildren, Olivia Grace "Liv" Allen and Layla Bergum all of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, William "Billy" and Teresa Flynn of Gallatin, TN; aunts, Gladys Swann and Helen Dorris both of Gallatin, TN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Oscar and Mildred Minchey of Nashville, TN, Hoyte and Gayle Minchey of Mt. Juliet, TN, Bonnie Bennett of Gallatin, TN, and Elise Wood of Brentwood, TN; nephews, Matthew Ramsey Flynn, Joseph Wesley Flynn; nieces, Gabrielle Cato, Kathryn Flynn; many God daughters and cousins.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Paul Williams officiating. Claude Parker, Pete Sigmon, Mike DuBose and George Chastain will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. The church will be hosting a lunching immediately follow the Mass in the Parish Hall.
