Mrs. Mary Katherine Huggins age 77, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday May 27, 2020 at her home. She was born March 18, 1943 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late James Royce and Ema Marie Garrett Smith. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Smith, Kay Emily Smith, brother, Milton Smith, special friend, Thomas Brown. She was a 1967 graduate of Dalton High School. She worked for the Dalton Public Schools.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lee Roy Huggins of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Sisson and Dale Smith, Shari and Michael Postelle of Rocky Face, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA, Glenn and Shirley Smith, Michael and Darlene Smith, Kenneth Smith all of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Flora Lee and Kelly Caldwell of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Broadrick, John Franklin, Karlee Chastain; son-in-law, Michael Chastain; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Jackie Dyer of Calhoun, GA, Gweneth and Kenneth Flood of Tunnel Hill, GA, Norma Huggins of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Katherine Huggins will be held Monday June 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens at the Celebration Mausoleum Pavilion with Reverend Jeremiah Quarles officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday.

Due to the National health crisis, crowd restrictions will be implemented.
