Mrs. Mary Frances Bonner age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mary was born August 23, 1933 in Washington, Georgia, a daughter of the late Jim Webb and Ophelia Lunsford Fanning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Judson Bonner, a grandson, Shane Bonner and her brother, James Fanning and her sisters, Mildred Moss, Jenny Pope Chafin and Elvie Fanning. Mary was a 1950 graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School and was a member of the Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Mary was a homemaker and loved working crossword puzzles and cooking. The true joy of her life was taking care of her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Henry J. Bonner, Jr. of Calhoun, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and James Owensby of Dalton, GA; daughter-in-law, Pat Bonner Sloan of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Eric and Sandi Owensby, Mandi and Wesley Gentry, Crystal Suggs, Lori Clay and Brian Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Parker, Riley Parker, Easton Parker, Maci Gentry, Kenleigh Gentry, Marlee Owensby, Emmy Ibrahim, Justin Axley, Jalee Suggs and Ashton Suggs; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Frances Bonner will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. noon at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Travis Martin officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Murray Memorial Gardens with Eric Owensby, Wesley Gentry, Justin Axley, Ron Duke and Austin Williams serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
