Mr. Marvin Reece Stacy, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 at his home. Marvin was born June 17, 1937 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late, William C. and Willie Irene Parks Stacy. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Stacy, sisters, Evamae Osborn, Zaba Joseph, Sue Almond and Willeen Stacy and brothers, W.C. Stacy, Jr., Jeff Stacy and Jack Stacy. Marvin was a graduate of Valley Point High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church for over forty-three years and was retired from J & J Carpet.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Long Stacy of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, James Davidson, Robert and Ruth Epps; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Doreece and Lester Amos; brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Julie Stacy; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Marvin Reece Stacy will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Center Point Baptist Church with Reverend Matt Futch and Reverend George Ross officiating. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at the Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery with close friends and family serving as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Center Point Baptist Church, Dalton, GA.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Center Point Baptist Church until the service hour.
