Marvin Daniel "Danny" Crow, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, November 24, 2025. Born on August 15, 1957, in Fort Payne, Alabama, Marvin lived a life rooted in love, devotion, and quiet strength. He was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, and his steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Marvin was a man who valued family above all else. He built a life defined by faithfulness, hard work, and genuine care for others. Those who knew him remember his warm heart, his loyalty, and the way he showed love through everyday acts of kindness. Marvin's home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and welcome, and his family was the pride of his life.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Andrew Crow and Shelby Jean Crow; his sons, Terry Dale Crow and Gary William Crow; his father-in-law, Woodrow Greene; his mother-in-law, Wilma Greene; brothers-in-laws, Ronnie and John Greene, his sister-in-laws, Wanda Moore; his nephew, David Chad Crow; and his beloved pet, Little Bit.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Susan Joan Crow.
He is further survived by his daughter, Tanya Timms (James) of Cartersville, GA; granddaughter, Jayla Chastain of Cartersville, GA; brother, Bernard Crow (Nancy) of LaFollette, TN; sister, Kathy Herbst (Robert) of Richmond Hill, GA; sister, Joyce Keith (Jimmy) of Rocky Face, GA; brother, David Crowe (Lisa) of Calhoun, GA; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends who will carry his memory forward.
Marvin also had a deep love for his pets, who brought him constant joy and companionship: Ben, Charlie, Mikey, PeeWee, and Ninja.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Marvin's life will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel in Calhoun, Georgia, with Seth Erwin and Rev. Junior Clayton officiating. Following the service, Marvin will be laid to rest near his son Terry at Chandler Cemetery, in the presence of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 4:00 p.m.
