Mrs. Martha Laraine Thompson, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born March 6, 1947 in Dalton, Georgia.

Laraine was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Odell Thompson, both parents, H.W. Day and Martha Lucille Callahan Burns Day, brother William "Bill" Cecil Burns, sister Barbara Day Smith, sister-in-law Patricia Thompson Shook Durden, sister-in-law Dianne Clements Thompson, and nephew Len Burns.

Laraine is survived by her loving children, son Scott Thompson (Frances) and daughter Christa Thompson Glaze (Greg). Loving grandchildren, Alex Thompson, Adrian Thompson, Averey Glaze, and Callyn Glaze. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Hugh Burns (Carol), Brad Burns (Vickie), Shane Shook, Vaughn Cox, Michael Thompson, Lori Thompson Poss (Jeff) and Christopher Thompson (Julie). Beloved sister-in-law, Gertrude Hamilton Burns, brother-in-law, Gary Thompson (Kim), and beloved special daughter Carrie Ann Holsomback. Laraine also leaves behind her obedient and loving dog, Brody.

Laraine worked as a salesperson in the carpet industry for 40 years, making contacts all over the U.S. In her spare time, she loved growing and pampering her flowers. She enjoyed watching college basketball when not watching HGTV or The Cooking Channel.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the West Hill Cemetery with Larry Hayes officiating.
