Mrs. Martha "Jean" Jordan, age 85, of Villanow Community, in Walker
County, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, January 12, 2020 at
Erlanger Hospital. Jean was born July 14, 1934 in Dalton, Georgia,
daughter of the late Horace Grady, Sr. and Bertie Mae Cleary Mullinax. She
was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jordan, a daughter and
sons-in-law, Sharon and Henry Lumpkin, and Michael Sane and a brother,
Grady Mullinax, Jr.
Jean was a graduate of Valley Point High School. She was the best mom,
grandmother, and great-grandmother any of us could have ever asked for. If
you have ever had the privilege to come sit down with us and eat on a
Sunday afternoon or a holiday, you know what we mean. She loved each
and every one of you just as much as she did us.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Sane, Patricia and
David Rymer; grandchildren, Brandon and Tara Sane, Zack and Tesha
Lumpkin, Grant Sane; great-grandchildren, Madi, Mia and Ace Lumpkin,
Braelynne Sane and Boston Sane; all of Dalton, GA; and many others other
special friends and family who called her "Grandmother Jean". Her favorite
scripture, Philippians 4:13, I Can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jean Jordan will be held Thursday,
January 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend
Tommy Crider officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield
Memorial Gardens with Brandon Sane Grant Sane, Zack Lumpkin, David
Rymer, Josh Brackett and Stoney Ponders to serve as pallbearers. Ace
Lumpkin and Boston Sane will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m.
until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the service
