Reverend Mark Anthony Ridley, age 58, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, July 30, 2022 at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. Mark was born June 13, 1964 in Chatsworth, Georgia. Mark was a 1983 graduate of Northwest High School. He was a long haul truck driver for many years. He was a member and ordained Bishop in the Church of God of The Union Assembly. He pastored several churches which included the Trion Church of God of The Union Assembly and also City View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.B. Ridley, mother-in-law, Naomi Faulknor, and sisters, Reba Craig and Barbara Eoff.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Badella Faulknor Ridley of the residence; mother, Rosetta Lawson Ridley of Chatsworth, GA; son, Aaron Isaiah Ridley of Dalton, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Erica Rose and Josh Penn of Ringgold, GA, Triska Leann Ridley of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Cody Penn, Marcus Penn, Ethan Penn, Caleb Penn, Bryson Penn and Vayda Penn; also someone whom he thought of as a daughter, Savannah Bowen of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and John Sturgill of Dalton, GA, Debbie and Mitchell Davis of Resaca, GA; father-in-law, Pete Faulknor; sisters-in-law, Gloria Faulknor and Angela Faulknor all of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews, Vickie Roach, Tony and Donna Cochran, Joshua and April Pilcher, Jennifer Carter and Cody Atkins; special friends, David and Cathy Baynes, Randy and Kelly Randolph and Kenny Newport; several cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Reverend Mark Anthony Ridley will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Stoney Kiser, Reverend Dale Brewer and Reverend Lonnie Starnes officiating. He will be laid to rest with his family at West Hill Cemetery with Deacons of The Church of God of The Union Assembly honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
