Mrs. Marie Beavers Salmons, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026, at Pruitt Health Care in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Marie was born on May 3, 1942, in Fannin County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Picklesimer Beavers. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edward "Butch" Salmons, who passed away on December 2, 2018; her sisters, Ruby Shook, Louise Clayton, Lucille Mulkey, Willie Thompson, Jeanette Ledford, and Margaret Stover; and her brothers, Jerry Beavers, James Beavers, Johnny Beavers, Jimmy Beavers, and Frank Voyles.

Marie was the last surviving of twelve children, a distinction she carried with quiet strength and treasured memories of the close-knit family in which she was raised. She was an exceptionally independent woman whose determination, resilience, and strong work ethic defined her life. A tireless worker, Marie believed in earning everything she had and faced life's challenges with courage and perseverance.

Above all, Marie's greatest joy was her family. She dearly loved her only daughter, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, taking pride in each of their lives and accomplishments. She also cherished the lifelong bond she shared with her brothers and sisters, carrying their love and memories with her throughout her life.

She is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Rick Cobb; grandchildren, Rica and Daniel Shepherd, Daniel and Brittany Cobb, Autumn Cobb, and Celeste and Anthony Lane; great-grandchildren, Delilah Cobb, Judah Shepherd, Everly Cobb, Israel Cobb, Lottie Shepherd, Matilda Cobb, Jordan Lane, Oliver Lane, and William Lane; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Marie and her beloved husband, Butch, will be inurned together in the Sundial Columbarium at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
