Miss Mariana Mendiola, age 16, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday evening May 3, 2023, at Childrens Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga Tennessee.

Mariana was born May 17, 2006, in Dalton, Georgia. Mariana was a sophomore at Coahulla Creek High School. Mariana loved soccer, her cats, her shih tzu dogs, Mila, Chiqui and especially Rabito, who was her constant companion. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her parents, David Mendiola-Arredondo and Maribel Mendoza-Marquez; brother, David Mendiola, Jr.; sisters, Mariela Mendiola and Melanie Mendiola all of Dalton, GA; maternal grandparents, Marisela Marquez and Victor Manuel Mendoza of Chihuahua, Mexico; paternal grandparents, Ofelia Arredondo and Victor Mendiola of Guanajuato, Mexico; maternal great-grandmother, Socorro Trujillo of Chihuahua, Mexico; aunts and uncles, Marcela Mendoza, Mario Mendiola, Pedro Mendiola, Jaime Mendiola, Fabian Mendiola, Rosalinda Mendiola, Jose Mendiola, Leonardo Mendiola, Victor Mendiola and Alfonso Mendiola all of Dalton, GA; several cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 8, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Noon at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Duvan Gonzalez officiating. Joe Davila, Jamie Davila, Rene Davila, Carlos Davila, Victor Mendiola, Jaime Mendiola, Pedro Mendiola, Mario Mendiola, Leonardo Mendiola, and Alfonso Mendiola Will be honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, with Rosary being held at 7:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends Monday morning after 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
