Mrs. Maria Del Refugio "Cuca" Mendiola age 57 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday July 12, 2023 at her residence.  Maria was born March 6, 1966 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Nuestra mami, es una guerrera de Jesucristo, muy valiente y Fuerte. Ama a su esposo, hijos, nietas y familia. Amante de ir de compras y ver paisajes. Es muy chistosa y bromista. Descansa en paz mami, te amamos mucho y hasta pronto.

Maria is survived by her husband, Cireneo Mendiola Soto; son, Marcos Mendiola; daughters and sons-in-law, Angelica and Ismael Hurtado, Emma Mendiola, Fidela Mendiola and Richard Brown; Laura Mendiola; grandchildren, Celeste Moran, Camila Mendiola, Kennedy Brown and Reagan Brown; beloved pets, El Mancha, and Coco; brother, Raul and Patricia Lopez; sister, Claudia Lopez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Miguel Mendiola and Fidela Soto; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joel Mendiola and Sanjuana Rodriguez; nieces and nephews, Rosana Mendiola, Sergio Mendiola; cousins, Rolando and Dulce Segura, Yadira "China" Segura, Ashley Segura and America Segura; several other nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Javier Munoz officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with Marcos Mendiola, Richard Brown, Ismael Hurtado, Raul Lopez, Rolando Segura and Joel Mendiola honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church after 4:30 p.m. Friday until the service hour.
