Mrs. Margie Lee Ward 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday evening, December 16, 2017 at the local hospital. Margie was born February 2, 1932 in Ringgold, GA, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Ward and Ruby Daniels Ward. Margie was also preceded in death by her brother, Ross Ward; sisters, Barbara Quinn, Donna Williams; grandson, Greg Dempsey; great-grandchildren Brannon Bradley and Kanistan Patterson. Margie loved to sew and work in the garden.

Margie is survived by her daughters, Joyce and Charles Dempsey, Gail Barnett, Diane Anderson, Lavada Cunningham, Laura and her husband Bobby Ivey, Lisa and her husband Johnny Lynn; brother, Robert and Elizabeth Ward; sister, Wilma Jean Swanson, Margie is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Margie will be held, Tuesday December 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Shane Pierce and Reverend Tony Angel officiating. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel Cemetery, with Johnny Lynn, Bobby Ivey, Chad Cheatwood, Anthony Franklin, Sonny Evans, Rocky Pierce, Jason Schubert and Dewayne Schubert serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from Ponders Melrose Chapel, Monday December 18, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
