Mrs. Margie Irene Davenport Newberry, age 85, of the Dawnville Community in Whitfield County, Georgia departed this life, Saturday morning, January 14, 2023 at her home.

Margie was born August 2, 1937 in Blairsville, Georgia, a daughter of the late Floyd Blaine and Arkie Richards Davenport.  She was also preceded in death by sons Gerel Newberry and Dennis Newberry, son-in-law, Bobby Jones, brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Katherine Davenport and Donna Davenport, Lloyd Blaine "Buck" Davenport and a brother-in-law, Bill Bartenfield.

Margie is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Robert "Bobby" Newberry of the residence; son, Tony Headrick and his life partner Forest Newton of Ringgold, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Barry Ogle of Tunnel Hill, GA, and Teresa Jones of Dalton, GA; brother and sisters-in-law, Richard Davenport of Dawnville, GA, and Regina Davenport of Dalton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Myrtice and Carl Priest, and Mary Bartenfield all of Dalton, GA;  five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Margie Irene Davenport Newberry will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens.
