Ms. Margie Nell Johnson, age 82, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life
Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Wildwood Health Care Center, in Ludville, Georgia.
Margie Nell was born July 26, 1940 in Fairmount, Georgia, a daughter of the late
Homer Thurston and Laura Roberta Findley Johnson. She was also preceded in
death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Max West, Betty and Hoyt Kenner
and Robert Gibson, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman Johnson, Hubert and
Joyce Holmes Johnson, Edward and Carol Garland Johnson.
Margie Nell worked her early years in textiles and later in food service and retired
from McDonald's. She was very proud of the fact that she earned her GED at age
Fifty-five.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Randal and Eva Cox of the Czech
Republic, and Daniel Cox of Fort Worth, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle
and Reverend Robert Vines of Conyers, GA, and Cindy and Gary Ingle of Calhoun,
GA; sister, Sue Gibson of Fairmount, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and
Berta Johnson of Cartersville, GA; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Margie Nell Johnson will be held Wednesday,
June 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with her sons-in-law,
Reverend Robert Vines and Gary Ingle officiating. She will be laid to rest with her
family at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery, with Zach Vines,
Trevor Cox, Moses Ingle, Joshua Ingle, Caleb Ingle, Jacob Ingle, and Devin Ingle
honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel, (2566 Hwy 411,
Fairmount, GA, 30139) after 12:00 p.m. Noon Wednesday until the service hour.
