Obituary

Mrs. Margaret J. Wilson , age 89, of Resaca, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, April 24, 2022 after a brief illness.

Margaret was born June 3, 1932 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, a daughter of the late, Richard Earl and Nellie Bea Morgan Prater, Sr.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson and ex-husband, Luther Ray, children, Wanda Tinney, Alvin Ray and Karen Chambers, grandchildren, Hershel Burnett and John Chambers, great-great-grandchild, Baby Teven, brothers and sisters, James Prater, Richard Earl Prater, Jr., Oline Denton and Joyce Rackley, and sister-in-law, Murtis Wilson.

Margaret will be missed by many for she touched so many lives. She was always busy: canning, quilt making, crocheting, gardening, making fried apple pies, picture collecting, and mowing her own lawn (when she was able). She loved the Lord and her Family. Her favorite sayings were, "Praise the Lord" and "Thank You Jesus"!  From the family and on her behalf, we would like to thank Hamilton Medical Center, and Amedisys Home Health for the care she received while in their care: a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, everyone was so friendly and caring.  We also want to thank her grandson Todd Gribble for staying with her 24/7 and going above and beyond to aid in her care.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Winston Chambers of Chatsworth, GA; daughter-in-law, Terrie Ray of Richmond, VA; step-daughter, Barbara Burnett of LaFayette, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Christine Hair of Franklin, TN, Betty and Ivan Carson and Cookie Elliott all of Dalton, GA; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one, great-grandchildren, twenty-one great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; her precious fur baby cats, Fuzzy Wuzzy, Bright Eyes, Whitey and Freddy Krueger.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret J. Wilson, will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Resaca, Georgia, with Reverend John Massingill and Reverend Tim Sanford.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the church cemetery with Alan Fincher, Christian Champion, Matthew Seay, Steve Seay, Donnie Seay, Keith Gribble, Winston Chambers and Todd Gribble honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church after 2:00 p.m. Thursday until the service hour.
