Mrs. Margaret Marie "Maggie" Merrell, age 67, of Milledgeville, Georgia formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, December 14, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Maggie was born July 24, 1956 in Clinton County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Reed Beaty and Ruby Lee Honeycutt Beaty.  She was also preceded by her husband, Bobby Lynn Merrell, Sr., who died September 8, 1997, brothers, Robert Lee Davis, Allen Reed Beaty, and Cecil Davis and a sister, Angel Rose Beaty.

Maggie is survived by her companion, Tony Thurman; son, Bobby Lynn Merrell, Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Amy Merrell-Childree and Michael Childree all of Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Aidan Elijah Cole Green, Nathaniel Merrell and two additional grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Robert Joe McNeese, Rhonda and Kim Hunter all of Chatsworth, GA, Rita Faye Boreweic of Sesame, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Gene and Wanda Davis of McKee, KY, and Pamela Davis of Chatsworth, GA; aunts, Joy Parson and Diane Phillips both of Crandall, GA: nieces, Melissa Dotson of Ellijay, GA, and Tammy Jenkins of Chatsworth; several other nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret Marie "Maggie" Merrell will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Michael Watkins and Reverend Johnny West officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum with Michael Childree, Keith Alan Beaty, Aidan Green, Kevin Phillips, Johnny Thurman, Brad Ward and Clint Wofford honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
