Mrs. Margaret Edwina Goswick , age 88, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, November 5, 2021 at her home.
Margaret was born December 6, 1932 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Benny Earl and Barbara Ruphine Pierce Caldwell. She also was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Harold Eugene Goswick.
Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Valley Point High School. She worked many years as a Para Pro at Valley Point Elementary School. She was a lifelong, member for over seventy-eight years of Olivia Baptist Church. She was the oldest living member of that congregation.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Deborah Goswick of Watkinsville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia McCalley of Dalton, GA, Vanessa and Gary Wright of Cleveland, TN, Valerie and Kevin Hegwood of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jeffrey Goswick, Chris Catlett, Kevin and Misti McCalley, Jonathan McCalley, Michelle Collie, Adam McCalley, Jennifer and Drew Parker, Julie and Chris Reagan, Cameron Greeson, Harley Hegwood and Georgia Lee Hegwood; great-grandchildren, Dylan McCalley, Mackenzie Reagan, Kayli Reagan, Maggie Parker, Everett Parker, Kadence McCalley, Lora Ruth Catlett and Preston Catlett; great-great-granddaughter, Amyra Zachary. She is also survived by Whiskers, her beloved cat.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret C. Goswick will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Beach officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Cove Methodist Cemetery with Harley Hegwood, Chris Catlett, Kevin McCalley, Jonathan McCalley, Preston Catlett, Shane Babb, Drew Parker and Dylan McCalley honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. noon Monday until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Olivia Baptist Church or the Valley Point Alumni Association.
