Mrs. Margaret Katie Townsend Dale, age 95 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Thursday September 29, 2022 at the Regency Park. She was born May 20, 1927 in Jacksonville, Alabama, a daughter of the late Charlie and Dee Harmon Townsend. She was also preceded in death by her  daughter, Bonnie Louise Sexton, brothers, Curtis Townsend, Emory Townsend, sisters, Marybell Bennett, Ruby Hall, Ruth Joyce, Sarah Elder.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Anita Cochran of Dalton, GA, Jerry and Jan Cochran of Crandall, GA; sisters, Edna Cross, Geneva Lunsford; grandchildren, Shane and Shannon McCalley, Teresa and Brian Davis, Leeann and Pat Bentley, Faith and Johnny Brown, Joe and Traci Cochran, Stephanie and Matthew Richardson, Sonia and Ben Thomas; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret Katie Townsend Dale will be held Saturday October 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Terral Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Travis Richardson, Jonathan Killion, Dakota Holcomb, Jimmy Dycus, Gene Floyd, and Ben Thomas serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
