Mr. Marcus James Carrell, 31, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday Nov. 4th, 2020, from complications of a spinal stroke. He was a graduate of Murray County High School, class of 2009 and studied welding at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. He enjoyed riding horses, woodworking, and bull riding. He made friends anywhere he went and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oveline and Otto Pratt, Floyd and Lovie Carrell; older brother, Patrick Carrell; nephew, Patrick Darnell; Marcus is survived by his wife, Rebecca Carrell; children, Gracelyn and James Dean Carrell; parents, Raymond and Sharon Carrell; siblings, Candy Gentry (Tonder Gentry), Jamie Carrell (Ashleigh Watson), Natilia Carrell (Mark Flood), Kayla Carrell (John Erwin), Devlyn Carrell (Ashlyn Spivey); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services will be Sunday Nov. 8th at 2pm at Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Starnes, Shaun Pratt, and Paul Carrell officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Ball Ground, GA, with Devlyn Carrell, Chaston Carrell, Gabe Carrell, Nabrasson Carrell, Matthew Faulknor, Cordell McNabb, Murphy Scott, Earl Stanley, Jesse Stanley, and Ethan Stanley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Funeral Home Friday and Saturday 5-9pm.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
