Mrs. Mamie Lou Pendley, age 88, of the Tilton Community in Whitfield County, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday morning, January 26, 2014 at the local hospital. Mamie was born December 1, 1925 in Marietta, Georgia, a daughter of the late White Sam and Grace Phillips Lusk. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Millard Vester Pendley and her only son, Robert Paul Pendley and her only brother and sister-in-law, David T. and Lois Lusk. Mamie was retired from the Whitfield County School System where she worked many years in the lunch room at Valley Point and Southeast Schools. She was a member of Tilton Baptist Church and attended Valley Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother and Granny and her love for her Lord and her Family was known to all those around her.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Harold Weatherford of Acworth, GA, Robin and Roy Wofford of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Keith and Sondra Weatherford, Louie Pendley, Joey and Kelli Weatherford, Kasey Smith, and Ryan Stinson; great-grandchildren, Haley Weatherford, Ansley Weatherford, Jake Weatherford, Grady Weatherford, Chaz Smith, Jasey Smith and Faith Pendley; several other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mamie Lou Pendley will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at Tilton Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Adam Thomas, Reverend Harold Weatherford and Reverend Charlie Hamm officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery with Keith Weatherford, Joey Weatherford, Louie Pendley, Ryan Stinson, Donald Stone, Bud Rolader, John Carver and Lamar Lusk serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
