Mr. Major Lincoln Carroll, age 89, of Cohutta, GA, departed this life, Saturday December 16, 2017 at the local hospital. Major was born February 10, 1928 in Morgan County, TN. He was the son of the late Jonas and Lettie Carroll. Major was also preceded in death by his brothers, Emit, Houston. Wylie and Robert; sisters, Nellie and Ellen. Major was a logger by trade and worked for Georgia Pacific.

Mr. Major Lincoln Carroll is survived by his wife, Beulah Morgan Carroll; sons, Emit Carrol, Kermit and his wife, Virginia Sue Carroll; daughters, Betty McCury, Martha Morgan, Barbara and her husband Gene Ledford; grandchildren, Jake McCury, Jeff McCury, Jamie McCury, Jason McCury, Jay McCury, Mickey Morgan, Jonas Carroll, Mitchell Carroll, Eli Fields, Andy Morgan, Darlene Swallows, Diane Samples and Samantha Redd; and numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Major Lincoln Carroll, will be held Tuesday December 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Johnny Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Ann Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday December 18, 2017 from Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
