Mrs. Maggie Evelyn Stanley Clayton, age 84, departed this life, Thursday November 20, 2019 at the local hospital. She was born December 16, 1934 in Ellijay, GA a daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret Dempsey Stanley. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Emery Stanley.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Clayton of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Brinda Clayton of Dalton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Scott Brown of Abertville, AL; grandchildren, Christopher and Alannah Clayton, Tabitha Clayton; great grandson, Jaxon Clayton; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Charlese Stanley, Jerry and Nina Stanley of Ellijay, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Southern of Blue Ridge, GA, Mary Jane and William Townsend of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Maggie Evelyn Stanley Clayton will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Junior Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
